Harrogate Skills 4 Living
Centre need your help to make a difference for adults with learning disabilities and autism

Why volunteer?

Volunteering can help develop your skills, knowledge and experience as well as improving your mental health. Every hour you give makes a vital contribution towards achieving our goal of improving the lives of adults with learning difficulties and autism.

Volunteers are a vital part of the work we do and enhance the experiences we are able to offer. Volunteers may work for any part of the organisation.

The volunteer opportunities we currently have available are:

  • Volunteer Co-ordinator, This is a new opening within the organisation and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take ownership of this position and develop the role.

  • Allotment Assistant, We have a thriving allotment garden which is cared for and tended by our  'Allotment Club'. We are looking for a volunteers to assist in the group and in the general upkeep of the plot.

  • General Handyman, If D.I.Y is your forte and you have a little time to offer we have a constant stream of general mending, fixing and maintenance tasks.

  • Class Room Support,  working alongside our tutors and additional learning support staff, providing necessary help to make the session run smoothly and meet the needs of the group.

  • Lunch-time Support, Lunch-time support volunteers help between 11.45am and 13.15pm daily. You will work alongside our tutors and additional learning support staff, assisting clients with their lunch, making drinks for them and washing up after lunch break. This is a vital support role that allows staff to prepare for the afternoon sessions whilst ensuring clients have their lunch in the allocated time.
