Volunteer Oscars!

This years Harrogate District Volunteer Oscars took place last Friday at The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate.

The Volunteer Oscars are held every year and each year we show our appreciation by celebrating the fantastic contribution that volunteers of all ages make to Harrogate District, making it a better place for everyone.  The Awards are a celebration and are a great and positive way of recognising those who have gone the extra mile by volunteering in the local community and to also encourage others to volunteer.

We were very lucky to attend this years awards and we are very proud and want to say a massive congratulations to our volunteer Jamie Thistleton, who won highly commended in the new volunteer of the year category at this years awards.

Jamie has rapidly proved himself to be an invaluable member of our volunteer team at the HS4LC day centre and has also recently started working at our Brackenley Care home.

We are very lucky to have Jamie as part of our team at HS4LC and everyone is extremely proud of his achievements so far.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a big well done to our long-term volunteer Jessica Quigley, for her nomination as community volunteer at this years awards. We are so grateful for all the time Jess has given to HS4LC over the years. We know we are very lucky to have such a reliable and cheerful volunteer who is always so willing to help and learn!

Thank you so much Jess and congratulations on been nominated at this years awards!

Well done to everyone - it was a great event to be part of and such a great way of celebrating all the work volunteers do in our local community!
