It's the first week of December which means we can officially start the countdown to CHRISTMAS!
Christmas is always an exciting time of year especially at the Harrogate Skills for Living Centre. The centre is buzzing with the sound of Christmas tunes and excited clients.
The craft group have been busy making winter and Christmas themed art including the amazing material foxes and snowmen using paint to create the white body and materials to make the snowman's hat, nose and buttons.
The Skills bridge students are all settling well into their work placements.
To help with Christmas party planning the students have been putting their analytical skills into practice by handing out surveys to the clients at the centre to find out what food they would like to have at the party buffet, they collected the surveys in and produced a very helpful report of the results.
The Creative Computers: Films, Photography and Animation group have been busy working on a new project....The HS4LC talking Christmas baubles! We can't wait to show you the finished version!
The Baking Enterprise group have been busy as usual making their weekly sweet treats to sell at the centre, They have been in the Christmas spirit this week making ginger bread goodies.
Our Dancing Hands and Musical Favourites group have been listening to Christmas music for the past couple of weeks and have really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit! They have even learnt a little routine to showcase at the HS4LC Christmas party! We can wait to see it!
Our Believe and Achieve newsletter group are working hard to produce an extra special christmassy issue to hand out before the Christmas break. The issue will include all the photos from our Christmas party too!
We are also excited to announce that we will have a stall at the Christmas fair at Forest School in Knaresborough on the 7th December and we also have our student and residents annual Christmas party this week so keep checking back to see all our photos from the events.
Please note the centre will be closing at 3pm on Friday the 21st of December and will reopen at 10am on the 7th January 2019.
