Today we were very lucky to have two ladies from Ripon Museums at the centre to deliver a workshop on the Victorian Workhouses to some of the HS4LC clients.
The workshop covered the life of the people who would live in the Victorian Workhouses and what they would do day by day. We got a look at what was involved in the laundry process and also the clothes the adults and children would wear. We also heard about all the old remedies they would use when people were poorly.
Everyone who attended the workshop enjoyed it and especially loved getting to play with the toys the children would of had in those times and also seeing the clothes they would have worn and been able to try on the different Victorian hats,
The workshop was very interesting and we would like to thank everyone from Ripon Museums.
