Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre is an established charity working for the benefit of adults with learning difficulties and autism
About our Vision
HS4LC was formed in April 2010 in a response to the overwhelming need for support for vulnerable people in our community. HS4LC currently has the skills centre in the centre of Harrogate that runs a host of classes and groups and in addition to this we have two care homes in Harrogate.
Our Vision is to...
Reduce inequalities, overcome barriers and help people lead fulfilled lives.
We recognised that people living with learning disabilities experience isolation and exclusion. Therefore we provide a wide range of support services for our beneficiaries, from basic life skills and further education to promoting independent living and employment opportunities.
We believe in the right of every individual to live to their full potential. No matter the challenge or obstacle; we are there to provide encouragement for beneficiaries, their families, our staff and supporters alike.
In addition to our care homes and day services we run a programme from the day centre, called Skills Bridge programme this is the HS4LC supported internship prgramme. Our aim is to help young people achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work. This will be done by sessions at the day centre including English and Maths classes and time in placement with a local employer over a minumum of 6 month period to a maximum of 2 years.
