Our aim is to help young people achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with skills they need for work.

Intern Information

We know many young adults with learning disabilities

and autism would like the opportunity to work.

HS4LC are offering three routes to employment for young

adults with learning disabilities and autism. People

with learning disabilities typically take longer to learn

new tasks but with the right support they can overcome

their difficulties and have a better chance of gaining

paid employment.

Find out more below about the three different routes to

employment programmes we will be running from September

First Steps

Are you wanting to build up your work skills and experience alongside your college programme and
do you have access to personal budget or PIP?

This part-time programme is for young adults (16 - 24yrs) with learning difficulties or autism who are enrolled on a college course but looking for something extra to do on the days they are not in college.
The programme is flexible depending on need but could include working on one of our enterprise projects alongside one day in a work placement and access to our gym!

Skills Bridge Supported Internship

Are you in your final year at college and feel ready for employment but not sure you have the skills and
experience to do it on your own?

On the Skills Bridge programme interns will be supported by a job coach in a long term work placement. Alongside this will be the opportunity to further build work skills on one of our enterprise projects, increase
fitness in the gym and prepare for adulthood through independence in travel and life skills.
This full time programme is for young adults (18 - 24yrs) with an Educat ion Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who have completed college or sixth form and now want to take steps towards achieving permanent paid employment.

SEA Change - Supported Employment Agency

Are you a young adult with learning disabilities or autism who is looking for a route in to work?

SEA Change is a fully flexible programme that is tailored to meet the needs of the participant. The only requirement is that you have the drive and ambition to achieve permanent paid employment.

Our aim is to help young people achieve sustainable paid employment in the future by equipping them with the skills they need to work.
